So we dumped our stuff, went to the Casino, it is now dark. So we rushed there just to make sure we had a room, told the guy at Holiday inn the situation, he had never heard of such a thing and couldn’t believe they couldn’t find us a closer room, we passed three other Hampton’s on the way to the Holiday Inn! So we got a “comp” room, main floor, next to the mechanical room, across from the ice machine and next door to a meeting room with a birthday party complete with a mechanical bull and bouncy house. I said it better be free and she told me it would be. So I guess we had to try to check in at 3 to get our room? So the best they could do was a Holiday Inn Express 30 minutes away. We went to check in at 5:30 in the afternoon and were told “Hilton overbooks, sorry”. We are in our mid-60’s both with beginning cataracts and really don’t like to drive at night. We chose it for a number of reasons, we have stayed at Hampton’s before (we travel a lot) and haven’t had any issues, it was less than a mile from the casino so we could shuttle to it or Uber/Lyft so we could drink and not drive at night. We made our reservations at this Hampton 7 months ago to go see Blake Shelton at the Choctaw Casino.
